Cinnamon Twists: It will be hard to find a person with fully developed taste buds who does not like Cinnamon twists. Here is a bread machine recipe for this intoxicating old timer..
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup low-fat milk at room temperature
- 1 1/2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 tablespoons egg substitute or beaten egg
- 1 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1 cup white flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon rapid rise or bread machine yeast
- 1 1/2 tablespoons less-fat margarine or whipped butter
- 3 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Preparation:
- Add milk, canola oil, egg substitute, whole-wheat flour, white flour, sugar, and salt to bread machine pan. Make a round and deep section in the flour & pour yeast there.

- Set bread machine to DOUGH cycle.
- It will take 90 to 120 minutes for the cycle to finish. After the dough is ready, make 10-inch x 14-inch rectangle. Butterize the top of rectangles.
- Blend the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the margarine-topped dough.
- Cut the rectangle into 14 strips (about 1 inch wide). Fold the top end of each strip down to meet with the bottom end and then twist it a few times.
- Line up the strips on a oiled up non-stick foil
- Let the yeast rise and then bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
Garlic & Herb Pizza Crust: Healthy home made pizzas? No way. If you have a Bread machine and couple of hours on the weekend, a healthy Garlic and herb crusted pizza is just a few steps away.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons warm water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons molasses
- 4 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh, finely chopped basil
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano
- 3/4 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1 cup white flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon bread machine yeast
Preparation:
- Add water, molasses, olive oil, garlic, basil, and oregano to bread machine pan. Add wheat and white flour and make a well in the center of the flour and pour in the yeast.
- The dough cycle will complete in 90 to 100 minutes. Break up the dough in 4 equal pieces.
- Press and stretch each piece out into a circle about 7 inches wide.
- Sprinkle cheese, garlic, your favorite herbs and the choice of sauce on each piece
- Bake for 400-degree at about 12-15 minutes.
